PowerPoint files, like all other files, can become corrupted for a variety of reasons. If you're having trouble opening or reading the data in a PowerPoint file, any of several methods may facilitate partial or complete recovery of your data. It's less likely you'll recover your formatting, but it's probably more important that you simply get your text and images back. Instructions 1 Try importing the slides from the PPTX file rather than actually opening it. Click "Insert," then "Slides From Files." Browse to and select your file, then click "Insert All."
