What a 30 Million-Year-Old Amber Reveals?

Researchers from the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University in Britain conducted a scientific comparison of numerous pieces of amber dating back some 30 million years and containing 671 species of spider.
The study, the details of which were published in the Royal Society's Journal Biology Letters, examined the spiders' dimensions and distribution. It looked at amber from the Dominican Republic and Poland, and was the first time that a comparison of organisms trapped in amber had been possible.
Palaeoarachnologist Dr. David Penney, the leader of the team, from the University of Manchester's School of Earth, Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences, made the following comment regarding the study:
"Amber provides a unique window into past forest ecosystems. It retains an incredible amount of information, not just about the spiders themselves, but also about the environment in which they lived. "
"We have not only been able to compare the size distributions of over 600 spiders but we have also been able to gain unique insights into the forest in which they lived."
What is amber and how does it expose the myths of the theory of evolution?
Amber is fossilized resin, specimens of which date back millions of years. As Dr. Penny so excellently put it, amber is a window onto the past. When insects walking around on a pine tree millions of years ago were suddenly imprisoned by amber flowing slowly from the tree bark, they have been perfectly preserved right up unto the present day by being mummified in an oxygen-free environment. Since amber preserves the organism's anatomy exceedingly well, it permits paleontologists studying the life forms of the past to compare the anatomies of insects that lived millions of years ago with those of insects alive today. It is thus an invaluable instrument by which the claims of the theory of evolution can be tested. What the fossils in amber reveal about the theory of evolution is most unwelcome to evolutionists, and shows that their tales of change have no equivalent in the fossil record.
