"Starpath": a bike path that illuminates a park through solar energy

At first glance, "Starpath" seems to be an urban park mounted on Christ's Pieces in Cambridge, England. However, this is the first bike in the world that benefits through the materials with which it was made, not only cyclists, but pedestrians, the environment and the municipality where it is located.
More details to follow.
The main element that makes up the "Starpath" is a liquid applied on its surface which, during the day, absorbs UV rays and at night, emits light. One of the creators of this idea, Hamish Scott, Office Pro-Teq , explains that this bike works as if it had " a mind of its own"because the intensity of light changes depending on the levels of natural light available in the environment. Thus, the more intense glow is emitted during the night when there is less natural light.

The bike path was built in Cambridge Park covers 150 m² and it worked as planned, helping to reduce accidents with cyclists, thanks to the enlightened path, make a path safer.
The benefits to the environment are linked to the reduction of the contamination produced by numerous luminous points of lighting, since the intensity generated by the bike path is much smaller, less interfering in the life cycles of plants and animals at night.
The towns where these bike paths are built not only to bring their parks as a separate element, but also decrease their spending power, since completion of the new bike path, no extra expense is necessary. Moreover, bicycle paths which already exist in the cities can be converted to "Starpaths" because it adheres to the liquid concrete or timber in only four hours.

As this new bike was built in a park, pedestrians pass by him were also benefited, as the evening light emitted through the bike increases the sense of security.
Although this type of bike is still undergoing testing, the Pro-Teq says that some developed country governments have already made contact, showing interest in this source of clean lighting combined with a safe means of transport and sustainable.
In the following video you can see the process of building one of these bike lanes.
