Top stocks, companies, and cryptocurrencies to invest in for the blockchain boom

Image
Andrew Meola   Aug. 29, 2017,  Pixabay via Google Images How to Invest in Cryptocurrency Blockchain technology has been heating up in the past several months, thanks in large part to the surge in Bitcoin's price since early May. The cryptocurrency skyrocketed from less than $1,000 in March to an all-time high of $4,440 on August 14. Given this meteoric rise, it's no surprise that investors are clamoring to figure out how to break into the Bitcoin marketplace. But there are many other cryptocurrencies (such as Ethereum) and blockchain companies on the stock exchange where investors can funnel their money. However, investing in a cryptocurrency is different than investing in a regular stock. When you invest in a company, you're buying shares of that company and essentially own an extremely small percentage of it. When you invest in Bitcoin or Ethereum, you receive digital tokens that serve different purposes. With Bitcoin, you get decentraliz...

INSIDE HOTEL DEL SALTO AT TEQUENDAMA FALLS

Image
March 18, 2015 By Jennifer Degtjarewsky If you find yourself anywhere near  Bogota  Colombia, trek 20 miles southwest outside the city to the Tequendama Falls Museum of Biodiversity, also known as the historic Hotel Del Salto. One of Bogota’s most popular attractions, its legendary story tells how the once grand hotel clashed with nature in all its full and brutal majesty. How To Visit: To get there, you’ll drive (or ride a tour bus) on slow Andean Mountain roads from Bogota to Mesitas del Colegio that will take you past scenic views of the Bogota River. Though pungent from severe water pollution, as you rise in elevation the air quality begins to improve and you’ll have spectacular views of the forested subtropical habitat all the way to the 515 ft. drop of Tequendama Falls. The best time to see the falls is during the cool, rainy months of April – May, and then again in October when the full force of the Bogota River is pushed through a mere 60 ft. gorg...

How to Convert PDFs to Word Documents

Image
BY  PC MAG ME TEAM       MARCH 8, 2015, The PDF (Portable Document Format) is the open standard, created by Adobe in the 1990s, for presenting documents so they look consistent across all platforms and software. DOC (or DOCX) is the format/file extension used mainly by Microsoft Word for its word processing documents. And the two aren't anywhere near compatible. You can't open a DOC file with  Adobe Reader  (or any other free PDF reader like  FoxIt  and  Sumatra ). But, in answer to the often-made query "How do I convert PDFs to Word format"—which really means, "How do I edit a PDF in Word"—the answer these days is easy. Just open the PDF in Word. As of Word 2013 (released in 2012), Microsoft has offered a function called  PDF Reflow . It does what you expect. In Word, you go to the File tab, select open, select any PDF File, and open it right up for editing, as if it was a Word DOCX file. There are limitations, however. The...
