U.S. Draws India Into The Afghan“War”

Image
The time has come to carefully assess the U.S. motivations in widening the gyre of the Afghan war, which commenced seven years ago. The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States armed forces, Admiral Mike Mullen, has lent his voice to the incipient idea of a "regional" approach to the Afghanistan problem. He said the over-arching strategy for success in Afghanistan must be regional in focus and include not just Afghanistan but also Pakistan and India. The three South Asian countries, he stressed, must figure a way to reduce tensions among them, which involves addressing the "long-standing problems that increase instability in the region." Adm. Mullen then referred to Kashmir as one such problem to underline that if India-Pakistan tensions decreased, it "allowed the Pakistani leadership to focus on the west [border with Afghanistan]." He regretted that the terror attack in Mumbai raised India-Pakistan tensions , and "in the near term...

India’s Guantanamo Jails

The disclosure by a Pakistani lawyer that many people including Ajmal Kasab were apprehended by the Nepalese authorities in early 2006 and transferred to India for interrogation by the Indian intelligence agencies has once again raised the issue of the clandestine detention of foreign nationals in India and their use as clay pigeons in fake encounters to conduct coercive diplomacy against Pakistan. Ajmal Kasab is the only 'survivor' from among the ten attackers who held Mumbai to ransom from 26 Nov and 29 Nov, killing 170 and injuring hundreds and forms the pivot of the Indian argument that terrorism emanating from Pakistan constitutes a casus belli that merits a punitive action against Pakistan. According to Pakistan's Lawyer Farooque, who is running a NGO, 'Voice of Human and Prisoners' Rights' , Ajmal was one of around 200 people who were apprehended before 2006 and that an application by him to the Nepal apex court was currently pending in which the Indian a...

JINNAH:Pakistan’s Grey Wolf

Today, a leader was born. Sindh opened the door for Pakistan fourteen hundred years ago. And Sindh made Pakistan possible when it gave birth to the Mohammad Ali Jinnah. Bold. Disciplined. Dedicated. He is the only man in modern history who secured a New Country through the power of Conviction, Personal Will, and Law. Today, we share with you this short movie where we celebrate how the Great Leader, the Quaid-e-Azam, fulfilled the dream of the Poet of the East, Allama Mohammad Iqbal, and transformed a vision from the verses of poetry into a reality of international politics. The reason Pakistan was born because the Muslims of the entire region surrounding Pakistan played a role in its emergence, a role that goes back at least ten centuries in history. Today, Pakistanis – of all backgrounds and religions – make up a strong, rising nation. Today, we especially remember these two sayings of the Great Leader: "The weak and the defenseless in this world invite aggression from oth...

The Convoy of Death

Image
A powerful film exposing the US role in the massacre of thousands of unarmed prisoners of war in Afghanistan was shown for the first time in the United States February 6, 2003. The US premiere of Afghan Massacre—Convoy of Death was held at American University before a largely student audience. Made by Irish documentary filmmaker Jamie Doran, who was present for the premiere, Afghan Massacre has already been broadcast on national television in Britain, Germany, Australia and Italy, and rights to broadcast it have been sold to networks in a total of 24 countries. Official Washington's hostility is well founded . Doran's film provides irrefutable evidence that US forces in Afghanistan carried out a massive war crime . Working as a reporter for Japanese television, Doran covered the US-led siege of the Qala-i-Janghi fortress, where hundreds of captured Taliban prisoners were killed. Footage from the fortress included in the film presents the images sanitized out of US coverage o...

Israeli Army Gets Green Light for Gaza Operation

Image
The Israeli defense establishment is currently preparing for a military move against Hamas targets in Gaza after it received the green light Wednesday from the Israeli Cabinet . During a cabinet meeting about the situation in and outside the Gaza Strip, a senior Israeli occupation army officer gave ministers in attendance an overview of the potential retaliatory moves that the defense establishment is planning against Hamas' regime. A media blackout was declared on the deliberations. By late morning Wednesday, the Magen David Adom rescue service declared its highest level of alert . An Israeli official told Israeli daily Haaretz that Israel's response will go beyond the air raid, "Our response will be substantial and painful to Hamas," the official said. Most strikes will come from the air and be aimed at facilities believed to be of strategic importance to Hamas' political and military leadership. However, the officer said that weather conditions are currently ...
